EAS TAGS QUALITY CONVENTION > Technical control procedure

Determining eas sticker tags quality factor (Q factor):

1) Position tag( eas tag, eas label )on deactivation table and adjust tag in order to achieve maximum amplitude as displayed from the oscilloscope.

2)Using CF multi turn potentiometer, set tag amplitude to the maximum value.

3) Read tag central (maximum) frequency from frequency meter.

4 ) Delta 1 may be determined from the longitudinal lines.

5) Divide Delta 1 value by 1.414; the result obtained is the value of Delta 2.

6) Using the oscilloscope, set longitudinal lines again in order to display Delta 2 value.

7) Position longitudinal lines (Delta 2 value) in the centre of the tag field of resonance.

8) Rotate CF multi turn potentiometer clockwise in order to display the longitudinal lines (value of Delta 2) and observe the high frequency from the frequency meter.

9) Rotate CF multi turn potentiometer anticlockwise in order to display the longitudinal lines (value of Delta 2) and observe the low frequency from the frequency meter.

10) Determine the quality factor using the following calculation formula:
